I figured I'd post something random here just for the heck of it, cause I'm bored. So, if you were at an event (convention, party, whatever), and you got to choose 3 music artists from Japan to come to the event and perform, which 3 would you choose? Well since I posted I guess I'll list mine. I'd choose Flow, BoA, and The Underneath.

Infinite Undiscovery [Sep. 12th, 2008|10:45 pm]

[Current Mood |thoughtfulReview..y...]

Just last week I bought Infinite Undiscovery for the XBOX 360. There have been pleanty of commercials on TV for this game so I'm sure you all have seen it. Well I have beaten the game, and am now currently working on the optional dungeon, which is of course much harder than the "final dungeon" of the game. Either way, This is going to be a review of the game.

Pros:

Story - Overall it seemed like a pretty good one, which ended in a traditional Square-Enix way. It was rather easy to get into once the actual story started.

Characters - I myself rather liked the characters. To me they were likable, each of them having very different personalities, but obviously had some thought put into them.

Humor - I do have to admit there were a few points in the game that made me laugh pretty hard. Where the game lacks in some ways, it makes up for in the humor aspect, which is mostly near the begining in my opinion, so it made it a bit more enjoyable.

Battle System - There were things I didn't like about the battle system and such, but I'll get into that with the Cons. Once you got used to the different commands for your other party members it was pretty easy to control them. Push Y to request healing (though you wont be healed if the healer is being attacked), it was more or less your basic hack and slash, though at time sit did require some skill. You can set your fellow party memebrs on multiple options, such as Wait, to keep them where they are, Save MP, to have them attack, but not use any MP, Focus, to have everyone attack the same target, and Spread to have them attack whatever is around. Depending on the battle how you had them st could be key to winning or loosing.

Randomness - I have to say, it was fun having my guys wander around any area as a party, and from nowhere, the other party members will start conversing about this or that. It was just fun to listen to while roaming about.

Multiple Parties - This was a function I really liked. In certain areas or castles, you could create 2 or 3 parties, each party going a different way. In certain rooms, you could for example, look over the balcony, to see another of the parties, doing battle with enemies, using their abilities and saying stuff mid battle. You didn't just make the other parties, and not see them again until you were done. I liked that a lot.

Experience - In certain places, particularly the dungeons where there are more than 1 party being used, it is very easy to level up, because every single one of the characters, whether they be in a pary or not, gain experience from monsters killed, so you do not have to worry about individually leveling up every single character.

Optional Dungeon - Of course SE wouldn't leave out an optional dungeon or boss that is far harder than the final boss/dungeon. They did it with many Final Fantasy's, with Kingdom Hearts, and with this game as well. Yay!

Cons:

Lack of Direction - One thing that wasn't so fun, was when you were told "We need to get to *fill in the blank place*, but you weren't told how to get there. Often you'd be told. "We need to go North, through the whatever, then head East through the whatever" Nope...you were basically left to wander about on your own and figure it out.

Items - It is pretty hard to use Items in the middle of a battle. You actually have to open the Menu, and Select Items, then select the item, then the person you want to use it on. It takes longer than anyone would like to use them. It makes it harder to revive someone who has been KO'd, or restore health or MP via item this way.

Lip Sync - It is obvious that SE didn't even try to match the lip movements with the voices in this game. People speak entire sentences without their lips moving an inch. They really dropped the ball on that part I must say.

Length - They could have done a lot more with this game and story than they did, so the game only took about 20 hours to beat. It's fair I suppose, since Kingdom Hearts didn't take much longer than that, but I still think much more could have been done.

Character Numbers - A good amount of characters to have to choose from is all well and good, but this game total has about 17 characters..and in my opinion that is just way too much. It is hard to keep them all decently geared so they do not die, and it takes quite a bit of money to do so. Though I will admit it does have its good side, so many people being around is kind of cool.

So overall, I did enjoy the game, though it seems I will have to beat it again on hard mode, if I want to unlock all of the post final boss options. Should be interesting. I'd recommend it if you want something to kill time with.

Question of the....whatever. [Aug. 30th, 2008|10:30 pm]

It has been a long time since I posted anything here,e specially a Question of the, what should be week, but that kind of died off. Either way, here's mine, nothing amazing.

Which anime world would you want to live in? or basically, which show?

You can choose whether or not to be part of the crazy stuff...for example, should you choose Bleach, you could either simply live in that world, or be part of the shinigami's or hollow's...

I myself...am having a hard time choosing to be honest, between the world of School Rumble, going to the school the characters do, and having the normal anime craziness and unrealstic things happening (ex: fall from 100 feet head first on concrete, and be alright after), or the world of Negima, being part of a hidden world of magic.

So which anime world interests you and why?

Hi-ho. As most of us know, when ever an Anime is released in America they ALWAYS do something to screw it up, ne? Well, this inspired the Topic of the Week.

Please post a video of what you think is the WORST AMERICAN ANIME OPENING ever.

Here is mine:

The opening to Saint Seiya a.k.a Knights of the Zodiac

Yes....yes that is Bowling For Soup. They took an already mainstream American song and made it the opening to a Japanese cartoon....Bravo XD

You have a strong sense of justice and loyalty.  You will fight to defend yourself and those you love.  You tend to be a bit hard on yourself at times.

I wanted to post a general anime quiz, but I also took this Weiß Kruez quiz, since I just finished watching it lately. I thought it was a pretty good quiz, though I'm not sure how many characters they had available. I got someone from the bad group x.x;

Are there any anime that when you think back to them, you get a good feeling? Almost like "Aaah.....those were good times...."

Unsure for what reason, but for me, it was Tenchi Muyo/Universe when it came on Toonami. Don't ask why, but it will always have a special plce in my anime heart.

Quick Game Review: Drawn to Life [Oct. 3rd, 2007|02:58 pm]
Vulgar

[Current Music |Raito Town Theme]

Lately I've been playing Drawn to Life for the DS.

Objective: Go through the levels and collect pages from the Book of Creation that will allow you to draw things that the Raposa (inhabitants of the world) need. Along the way, rescue Raposa that have been captured in darkness and raise the population of (Your Town). At then end of each world, fight a monster that Wilfre (evil Raposa: villan) sets free as he tries to stop you from returning life to everything.

The game play itself is rather simple but, like a Kirby game, it can be pretty fun. With a wide range to things you can draw/customize (from rocket ships to the color of the rain) it makes the game a little more interesting and unique. The NPC in the game look like little cats, they all have different personalities and they aren't shy about giving you the run around. The BGM can be pretty intriguing at times, too.

I posted some pictures here of my character, Sai from the town Raito, in case anyone wanted to see what the graphics were like before buying it (I was skeptical myself). But because the character is grid mapped, the movements are pretty accurate as it is a 2D game. Each time an enemy hits you, some of your color comes of until you are nothing more than a wooden mannequin

Well, I was happy to find out earlier this week, that the second animated Negima series was already being aired for quite some time in Japan, so I got to see up to episode 18 so far. Althoguh the storyline is completely original from the manga, I do enjoy it, and it is kinda funny, as well as decent with the magical aspect.

Also, I found out from Joe, that Ittsudate(Sp?) My Santa, a work of my man Akamatsu Ken, is finally going to be released this December by funimation! Despite the fact that it will eb two episodes, I can't wait to check it out, I've looked for it online for a while and came up with nothing.

Let's see....Bleach is out of fillers now, and I guess has been for the last few weeks, and I started reading the Naruto Manga....I caved in at long last, but the info I got from it was CRAZY!! I rewatched Tenchi Universe, and oldie but always a goodie, finally watvhed Naruto Movie 3, and now am going to get started with School Rumble. I already saw episode 1, and I did like it, it was silly, so Imma watch the rest! Woot!

Alright, so this is kinda a weird question. Has there ever been a character (from a manga, anime, video game) that you thought woulda been so kick ass if they were the opposite sex?

Ex: Road Kamelot from D. Gray~man-->
At first I thought she was a boy, and was freakin' awesome. But then I found out she was a girl, and now I like her slightly less. Dunno why. guess because if she were a boy, she would remind me of Kyo from Dir en grey, and a female Kyo just doesn't have much appeal. Her character design is still awesome, but her mannerisms would have been much more cute and obscure for a boy.

I totally should've been on Legends of the Hidden Temple instead of some of the MORONS they had on here instead. I just watched an episode where, between the two kids, they only got into THREE rooms in Olmec's temple. And it wasn't even because there were temple guards, the kids were just morons and couldn't figure out that if one door button doesn't work, you have to try the others instead of just going backwards. And Kirk was trying to be helpful and tell them that the way they were going was just going to take them backwards, but they didn't listen to him. They just kept going back and forth and back and forth, and the whole time I was just like "See what you get!? See what you get for not picking ME to be on your show!? DUMBASSES, THAT'S WHAT! Yeah, take it! Take it like a champ!"
